I came across this last week- I really like the idea behind it! It’s a competition to illustrate a book cover using embroidery. I love books, and I love embroidered illustrations so its kind of a perfect marriage. When I checked back in with the website this week they had an update with some examples of illustrated books. I love the one on the leather, really pretty. (I also LOVE the website- so many lovely embroideries to inspire.) Anyway, I have a question- if I was to illustrate a book cover for this contest, which book cover would you like to see with an embroidered illustration? I’m at a loss for which book to choose- there are so many books! A little help would be appreciated:-)

Oh goodluck, I’m sure you’ll come up with something cool!
Here’s sme book ideas:
Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage short stories by Alice Munro
Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
emmmm…
Any Meg and Mog book!
Schott’s Miscellany…………….
Oh! Great suggestions Katie! Ah, Meg and Mog, I used to love those books. I’d forgotten about them. And it got me thinking about childrens books in a way I hadn’t been… ooh, I could do an Enid Blyton book! Hmmm…. thinking-cap ON.
OOOoooh, Metamorphosis is a great one! Alice in Wonderland is probably going to be done to death, huh? what about On the Road? The Twits? Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Little Red Riding Hood? The Guinness Book of Records? The Secret Garden? Lord of the Rings? Harry Potter? The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?? The Q’ran…??
Hahaha! That’s a nifty list Lisa! Believe it or not, my first idea was The Twits;-) Vetoed as I only can think of the iconic Quentin Blake illustrations, they impair my further thinking. But reckon I defo should go with your last suggestion…
